Where to stay near Venice's smaller cruise pier

San Basilio cruise terminal

In Venice, small oceangoing ships and river vessels often use the San Basilio cruise pier or its extension, the Santa Marta pier. This long quay is at the foot of the Giudecca Canal, around the corner from the larger Marittima cruise basin.

If you're looking for a hotel near San Basilio, you have several options:

The immediate neighborhood:

These hotels are within short to moderate walking distance of the San Basilio pier and terminal building, with only one or two small footbridges to cross.

Zattere/Accademia:

To reach this hotel area from Marco Polo Airport, take the Alilaguna Linea Blu airport waterbus to the Zattere stop.

Between your hotel and the pier, take No. 2 vaporetto (Zattere to S. Basilio, or vice versa) or walk.

Across the Giudecca Canal:

The following hotel is one stop away from San Basilio on the No. 2 vaporetto, or you can take the hotel's free shuttle to Zattere and walk to San Basilio.

Piazzale Roma or Mestre:

From the Piazzale Roma, or from a hotel in the mainland suburb of Mestre, you can hire a land taxi to the San Basilio pier.
