Where to stay for Venice's main cruise port
Venice has two cruise-terminal areas: Marittima (which serves ships of all sizes, including megaships) and San Basilio (a pier used by small to medium-size ships).
If your cruise ship arrives or departs at Marittima, you can choose from several hotel locations.
Piazzale Roma area:
From the Piazzale Roma, take the People Mover, a land taxi, or (if your cruise line provides one) a free shuttle bus to your ship.
If you're traveling with heavy luggage, want to avoid footbridges, and don't mind proximity to taxis and buses, these two hotels directly on the Piazzale Roma are convenient choices:
For hotels that are away from the traffic but still close by, see the "1 bridge to cross" and "2 bridges to cross" listings on:
Important: All of these hotels are popular (especially during the cruise season), so book early to get a room.
Alilaguna Blue Line boat stops:
The Alilaguna Linea Blu airport water bus runs back and forth between Venice Marco Polo Airport and the Marittima cruise port, with stops along the way. See:
